The following is a guest post from Saqib Rashid of Mind-Body Clinic.
Vitamin C is a vital nutrient for human beings. Our bodies cannot make vitamin C, therefore we always have to fulfil our need of vitamin C from other sources, such as green leafy vegetables, berries, guavas, citrus fruits, tomatoes, melons, papayas, kiwi, bell peppers, broccoli, kale or from supplement form of vitamin C etc.
In the case of prophylactic purpose or to use in a condition of a disease, food sources do not provide an ample amount of this vital vitamin. In such circumstances, a more potent form of vitamin C is necessary. Thus, the natural or synthetic form of L-Ascorbic Acid is required to fulfil the deficiency and to combat the disease-causing pathogen effectively.
Vitamin C is an effective antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal nutrient. Opponents of vitamins and supplements – everyone knows who these are – would never tell their patients about the benefits of these health-giving essential nutrients, for one simple reason: they cannot sell and make big profits from these vitamins and minerals as they make from the sale of their pharmaceutical drugs.
