The Secret to Making Unflavoured Pea Protein Taste Amazing (3 Delicious Recipes)

You know Cutetonic Organic Pea Protein is amazing for your muscles and keeps you full for hours. But let’s address the elephant in the room: what does unflavoured pea protein actually taste like?

On its own mixed just with water, it has a distinct, slightly earthy taste and a thicker texture than whey.

Shop the pea protein used in these recipes: Cutetonic Organic Pea Protein Powder (100% Pure) or browse all protein powders.

Some brands cover this up with bucketloads of artificial sweeteners and synthetic flavourings. We don’t. Our pea protein is 100% pure.

Because it is unflavoured, it is a blank canvas. The secret to enjoying it is knowing how to blend it with strong, complementary flavours that turn that earthiness into a rich, delicious shake.

Here are three fail-safe recipes to make your pea protein taste incredible.

1. The “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup” (The Ultimate Masker)

Strong flavours like rich cocoa and nutty peanut butter are the best way to completely mask the taste of pea protein. This tastes like dessert.

• 1 scoop Cutetonic Organic Pea Protein

• 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder

• 1 tablespoon peanut butter (or almond butter)

• 1 frozen banana (crucial for creamy texture)

• 250ml plant milk (almond or oat work best)

2. The Tropical Cream Slice

Tropical fruits with natural acidity cut right through the earthy notes of pea protein, resulting in a bright, fresh smoothie.

• 1 scoop Cutetonic Organic Pea Protein

• 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks

• 1/2 cup frozen pineapple

• 1/4 avocado (adds amazing creaminess without flavour)

• 250ml coconut water or water

3. The Creamy Green Machine

Don’t fear green smoothies. The key here is using healthy fats and fruit to create a silky texture that hides the “grit” some people find in plant proteins.

• 1 scoop Cutetonic Organic Pea Protein

• 1 large handful fresh spinach

• 1/2 ripe avocado

• 1 green apple, cored

• Squeeze of fresh lime juice

• 250ml water

Master the blend and enjoy the purest muscle-building fuel on the planet.
